Commencement at CSU

Commencement at Columbus State University recognizes the culmination of years of work by students and faculty. Held at the end of fall and spring semesters, graduation represents a time of pride for CSU's faculty, students and their families.

Upcoming commencements

The 2017 Spring Commencement Ceremonies will be held at the Lumpkin Center on the campus of Columbus State University. The ceremony for the College of Education and Health Professions will be held on Friday, May 12th at 5:00 pm. The ceremony for the College of Letters and Sciences will be held on Saturday, May 13th at 10 am. The ceremony for the College of Arts and the College of Business will held on Saturday, May 13 at 3 pm.

Graduation is moving back to main campus for several reasons:

  1. The growth of our graduating classes was forcing us to do more than one ceremony even if we stayed at the Civic Center. Another option would have been to limit attendance, which has proven very unpopular.
  2. Because of other paid bookings in the Civic Center, future ceremonies would have been scheduled only on weeknights.
  3. Costs associated with the current location had increased so significantly, fees for graduating seniors would have had to increase.
